At Innophys, we have been developing wearable work-support robots since our founding. Currently, our lineup includes “MUSCLE SUIT Every,” “MUSCLE SUIT GS-BACK®,” “MUSCLE SUIT Soft-Light,” and “MUSCLE SUIT Soft-Power.”

We have visited various work sites across industries and listened to our customers’ opinions and requests. Based on their feedback, we felt the need for a “lighter assistive suit that effectively reduces the burden on the lower back.” Through continuous improvements, we have achieved a price point of less than one-third of the existing model, MUSCLE SUIT Edge (498,000 yen). MUSCLE SUIT Every retains the same functionality of assisting movements with a maximum assistance force of 25.5 kg while being the lightest among the exoskeleton-type devices in the MUSCLE SUIT series, weighing only 3.8 kg.

It can be utilized in various scenes, such as caregiving, manufacturing, logistics, construction, and agriculture. It prevents lower back pain during lifting heavy objects or working in uncomfortable positions.

Assistive Suits that Reduce the Burden on the Lower Back

This wearable work support was developed by a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Faculty at Tokyo University of Science in 2014. The robot assists in tasks that involve lifting people or heavy objects and maintaining a stooped posture, which can strain the lower back. It reduces workload and contributes to the prevention of lower back pain. Its main feature is using pneumatic artificial muscles (McKibben-type artificial muscles) as actuators. This enables smooth and natural movements while providing a strong assistance force of up to 25.5 kgf. The initial model was released in 2014, and more than 25,000 units have been sold to date.
