Traditional Japanese Craftsmanship in Watering Cans
Copper Long-Necked Watering Cans
Utilizing materials suited for plants, repairable lead-free soldering, and pursuing ultimate lightness in watering cans.
Founded in 1944 amidst a scarcity of resources towards the end of World War II. The founder, Kuranobu, was a roof craftsman for shrines and temples and worked with copper for roofing. He utilized his skills to manufacture and sell daily necessities. Among them were watering cans. The second generation, Osamu, developed copper watering cans while learning from a bonsai master. We continue to manufacture watering cans with traditional methods built for repairability, a practice rooted in Japanese culture. We consult with universities, research institutions, and horticulturists for improvements and the development of new watering can models, incorporating their feedback into our products. We work diligently, using a soldering iron in over 1300℃ coke fire. We also train overseas artisans to repair our products abroad. Although Negishi Industries products don’t carry a company emblem, it symbolizes “it’s not yet complete.”
