The transparent hollow particle film "Air" was developed to solve the contradiction of wanting to block the harsh sun in summer and bringing in the warm sunlight in winter. Thanks to the effect of aerogel, "Air" can be reflective or transmissive depending on the angle of sunlight. It reflects the high summer sun and allows the low winter sun to pass through. Aerogel also reflects far infrared rays back into the room, helping to retain warm air inside during the winter.

By being effective in both cooling and heating seasons, it reduces the energy consumption for air conditioning throughout the year, improving thermal efficiency by about 20% in both summer and winter.

To achieve energy savings with transparent glass films, we focused on "hollow particles," namely, aerogel. Due to its unique molecular structure, it has numerous hollow structures inside and provides excellent insulation properties. By pulverizing aerogel into micro-sized powder, incorporating it into the adhesive for the film, and dispersing it using specialized technology, consistent thermal performance was confirmed. The solar reflection rate of aerogel itself is about 28% while by evenly dispersing the hollow particles into the adhesive, we successfully reduced solar transmission by up to 19.3%.

No special tools are required for installation; the same tools used for applying regular glass films are sufficient. Additionally, the durability is comparable to that of a standard window film.

"Air" has been adopted in a wide range of settings, including large-scale condominiums, single-family homes, resort hotels, office buildings, and factory windows, as well as facilities for children such as daycare centers and kindergartens, restaurants, museums, zoos, and even the windows of passenger ships and tankers. The film's durability, based on weathering tests, is approximately 10 years, however, the actual lifespan may vary depending on usage conditions and sunlight exposure.
