
The corrosive gas monitoring system S-QTMS

S-QTMS is a metal corrosion measuring and monitoring device that uses QCM sensors to detect corrosion-causing, hazardous gasses. It also monitors the ambient temperature of the area that it is installed in, as major fluctuations in the temperature while operating equipment and machinery can result in damage and deterioration. Equipment and machinery can also be damaged by metal corrosion and electrical discharge caused by high humidity. S-QTMS makes it possible to simultaneously use two channels to monitor for corrosive gasses and a separate channel to monitor temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure.
We design and manufacture the entire product–everything from the sensor to the measuring device. We are able to customize our sensors to the specific needs of our clients. For example, S-QTMS can be powered with either an AC adapter or four AA batteries and does not need a secondary device, like a computer or other dedicated device. As an option, the sensors can be customized for wireless data transmission.

Why We Made S-QTMS
Although when doing maintenance on control boards inside switchboards and other equipment, workers run diagnostics and use testers to verify the device readings, there were no standardized devices that would show when a control board needed to be replaced. We created S-QTMS to provide that information by constantly monitoring and recording sensor data on corrosion, temperature, humidity, and pressure, making it easy to know when a board needs to be replaced.

Excellent Cost Performance
Similar sensors are also manufactured overseas, but they cost on average about 350 USD per unit. This leads to infrequent testing, limited testing because of the high cost to acquire multiple sensors, and a hurdle to improving conditions around machinery and equipment. S-QTMS, on the other hand, only costs approximately 35 USD per unit, making it much easier and affordable to add more sensors in more places and more easily acquire data.

Benefits of S-QTMS
Because S-QTMS is always on and monitoring the environment, corroded parts can be detected long before the equipment breaks. This prevents line delays and ensures that production can continue at a steady rate because repairs can be planned ahead of time. S-QTMS can diagnose if the levels of corrosive gasses are likely to harm humans or damage the equipment.
