Our genuine kimono-based products allow you to experience the essence of Japan more conveniently. Stemming from a desire for more people to enjoy the authenticity of kimonos easily, we introduced these items as part of our Dosukoi Japan’s merchandise made from kimonos.

While kimonos are undoubtedly beautiful, they aren’t always practical to wear. They can be bulky and heavy, and some may wish to enjoy their intricate designs more casually in their daily lives. To address these sentiments, we have transformed kimonos not just into wearable items but into functional pieces. These products allow you to appreciate their beauty, brilliance, essence, and the stories they embody.

Designs with a Story, Crafted in Silk

Our products are characterized by beautiful patterns that leverage the original kimono designs. To preserve these designs, we do not make fine cuts but instead focus on utilizing the entirety of the fabric's surface. Each kimono pattern has meaning and story, often called "Kissho patterns".

For instance, the crane symbolizes longevity, stemming from the legend that it can live for a thousand years. Its pristine white feathers and elegant appearance have led it to be revered as a "Zuicho." In this way, our products feature auspicious patterns that convey wishes for the owner's happiness.

Furthermore, we exclusively select kimonos made of silk as our raw material. The unique shimmer of silk, coupled with its luxurious ambiance, enhances the appeal of our products.

A New Approach to Appreciating Kimonos Up Close

The kimono, a traditional Japanese garment, has gained international attention for its beauty, with many people admiring its elegance.

However, even in Japan, wearing a kimono can be challenging. This is evident from the existence of kimono-dressing schools, indicating that putting one on is not a simple task, and enjoying it casually can be difficult.

For those who want to appreciate the kimono but find it challenging to wear, find it bulky and heavy, or wish to enjoy it in ways other than wearing it, we have repurposed authentic kimonos into everyday items such as pouches, pencil cases, tote bags, cushion covers, and table runners.

Now, you can experience the essence of the kimono daily, bringing it closer to your life for you to enjoy effortlessly and casually.

Exclusive Items with Distinctive Designs

Our products are crafted from genuine kimonos, so the material is limited. Even if two products are made from the same kimono, the pattern's appearance can differ depending on where the fabric is cut.

We offer a variety of products, such as pouches, pochettes, clutch bags, and space mats, allowing you to incorporate your favorite kimono items into your daily life.

For each product category, we maintain a stock of over 50 different designs at all times. For example, from one kimono sash (obi), we can only create an average of six. Each will have a distinct pattern due to the cutting variations. So, with 50 designs and six pouches per design, you have a selection of 300 unique pouches to choose from.

We also accept semi-custom orders. If you have a preferred kimono color or pattern, we can tailor-make a product to meet your desires.
