Innovative Nanofiber Environmental Oil Adsorbent: "ECOSAS fiber"

ASPiA Japan Co., Ltd.

"ECOSAS Fiber" series

"ECOSAS Fiber" series

Once Adsorbed, Oil Stays Put – Even in Water.

From food service to manufacturing, oil is essential, yet spills and used-oil disposal create real challenges.
ECOSAS Fiber addresses these issues with breakthrough oil adsorption and retention, outperforming conventional products. Its nanofiber structure powerfully adsorbs oil, and once captured it will not be released, even underwater. Because it selectively takes up oil in the presence of water, it suits a wide range of uses, from cleaning restaurant grease traps to recovering spills in rivers and oceans.
ECOSAS Fiber is also recyclable, helping minimize environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable society.

Use Cases

Use Cases

Exceptional Oil Adsorption and Retention

ECOSAS Fiber offers clear advantages over conventional absorbents:
1.Superior Adsorption Performance: The nanofiber structure enables rapid, selective adsorption of oil. A single 20 g bulk sheet can take up 1.2 L of oil, which is 60 times its own weight.
2.Excellent Water Repellency: Traditional absorbents take up water along with oil, lowering efficiency and often sinking, which makes recovery difficult. ECOSAS repels water and targets only oil.
3.Outstanding Retention: Adsorbed oil remains held for over 24 hours, reducing handling and improving cleanup efficiency.

Transforming Industrial Waste into a Resource: Environmentally Friendly Through Oil Separation and Reuse

ECOSAS Fiber retains value even after use. In a dedicated recycling program, a centrifuge separates the adsorbed oil from the fiber so both can be reused. The recovered oil can become boiler or biomass fuel, while the fiber can be used in applications such as cement additives or combustion material. Because ECOSAS selectively adsorbs and retains only oil, it minimizes transport risk and enables safe recycling, turning waste into resources for a sustainable future.

ECOSAS Fiber: Trusted Across Diverse Industries

In Japan, ECOSAS Fiber is used widely, from major heavy-machinery and airline companies to food factories and restaurant chains. It has also supported disaster response, including the 2020 oil spill off Mauritius and the 2023 spill caused by a grounded tanker in the Philippines. The ECOSAS series includes not only oil adsorbents but also oil-dispersing agents and filtration equipment. Through our “ECOSAS Club,” we collaborate with partner companies to improve product quality and functionality based on on-site feedback.
