Tegsumi Silkcare Shampoo for Dogs

A silkcare shampoo for dogs that is rich in natural silk produced by Japanese silkworms.

The concept behind Tegsumi Silkcare Shampoo for Dogs is to make skincare for dogs the norm. Its key ingredient is silk fibroin extracted from the silk produced by Japanese silkworms and dissolved in water using our special technology.

Tegsumi is a combination shampoo and hair treatment made with natural silk. It contains beauty essences including yuzu ceramide, olive fruit oil, camellia seed oil, argan oil, honey, and keratin. It contains no substances that stress the skin, such as petroleum surfactants, mineral oils, UV absorbers, sulfates, silicone, or synthetic coloring agents.

Delicate dog skin dries out easily, but the potent moisturizing effect of natural silk makes it perfect for paw care, such as washing paws after daily walks. To use Tegsumi shampoo, work it into a lather with a soap net and wash your dog’s skin as if covering it with foam. No treatment is needed, and the foam washes off quickly, making it a time-saving shampoo that is kind to both dogs and their owners.

The name Tegsumi comes from tegusu, the Japanese word for natural silk thread made from wild silkworm cocoons, and mi, the word for “beauty.”

About the Japanese Silkworm

While the more common and better-known white silk cocoons are grown at indoor sericulture (silkworm culture) facilities, where cocoons can be harvested several times a year, green cocoons are reared outdoors in nature. These naturally produced cocoons are very precious, since only one cocoon is produced by each silkworm per year.

Silkworms that develop outdoors use their cocoons not only to protect themselves from predators but also to maintain a constant temperature and humidity in which to grow. The silk produced by wild silkworms is constantly exposed to sunlight, so it has a stronger ability to block UV rays than the domesticated silkworms that produce white cocoons.

Japanese silkworm silk also contains ten essential amino acids that are important for canine health, and it is better suited to cleaning canine skin. In particular, the silk fibroin contained in the silk cocoons gently and fully washes away dirt, leaving dogs’ coats glossy and fluffy. This silk fibroin also controls skin moisturization, blocks UV rays, and regulates skin health.

A Dog Shampoo That Smells Wonderful

Tegsumi features an exquisite balance of lavender oil, rosemary oil, ylang ylang, and tea tree oil & lemongrass. Many dogs are very sensitive to smells, so the shampoo has a subtle fragrance during washing and leaves almost no fragrance afterward. These lovely aromas make wash time relaxing for the owner, too.

Reduces Irritation and Contains No Additives

Dogs’ skin is only one-third to one-fifth the thickness of human skin and is very delicate. That’s why our Tegsumi does not contain substances that might cause irritation, such as petroleum surfactants, sulfates, synthetic coloring agents, UV-absorbers, silicone, or mineral oil. Shampoos without petroleum surfactants tend not to lather well, which leads to a feeling that fur has not been properly washed. We spent a considerable time developing this petroleum surfactant free shampoo with good lather.
